Jan 25, 2021. MIRACLES. 10 weeks in the field!
Jan 25th email -
Hola mis queridos amigos! Woww, this week went by a lot slower than usual, but I had some awesome experiences! Stay tuned to the end to hear a cool lil miracle:) We were quarantined during the beginning of the week. Laredo has been rising a lot in covid cases, so missionary work this week was mostly done by facebook! It's definitely a bit of a challenge, but the joy felt through doing the lords work is always there:) and as of right now, we're not quarantined anymore and can continue going out to visit members and investigators.
We had a baptism this week with our investigator Guillermo, which was super special. He moved from Mexico a month ago, and we met him just 3 weeks ago and he wanted to strengthen his relationship with God. 3 weeks later after teaching him, he wanted to get baptized and confirmed. Guillermo is an amazing man, and wants his family to learn of the gospel as well.
Alright, so here's an amazing miracle that just happened like an hour ago. Tonight we decided to visit a member who's been inactive for a little while who we didn't know or had met, to get to know her and to share quick message. We knocked on her door and she was so happy and shocked to see us. She was such a kind, gentle and loving old lady. She gladly invited us in and we started talking to her and getting to know her. She gave us some pan con leche and she truly made us feel at home. She started talking about her family and said her husband wad recently diagnosed with cancer and is super sick. She has been inactive for 25 years. She said she's always had a strong testimony of the church, but this year she felt abandoned by God. This morning she said she dropped on her knees and said a long prayer and asked God for help and for comfort and to feel loved. She started crying and said her prayer was answered by us coming and visiting her. She said no one has come to visit her in a long time. She was so thankful to God for having us come over and she is going to start coming to church again. As little as that may seem to some, I found it a miracle. God heard her prayer and sent us to go visit her. The love we felt for this sweet lady and the spirit that was there was simply beautiful.
I learn something new everyday on this mission. I know that reaching out and paying someone a little visit or a phone call, can make someones day and help them feel the love that God has for them.
Thanks for tuning in everybody, I hope everyone can have a great week this week. I just wanna invite everyone to always be looking to reach out to someone in need:)
Les amo mucho, nos vemos la próxima semana!
