Getting transferred to Elsa, TX & PHOTOS!! (Jan 26 2021-Feb 19 2021)
This past week was a bit rough!
Nearly 1/3 of the state of Texas lost power due to a very rare cold front and snow-storms all over the state. When Mel called us last Monday morning, he said it was 19° F outside. WHOA. He also told us that so many people and businesses thought the world was ending! Many businesses were closing because they honestly thought the world was coming to an end. To be honest, much of the state was in a 'state' of emergency.
He was supposed to complete the transfer to Elsa, TX on Tuesday, but that was pushed back to Friday the 19th. He will be with a new companion, Elder Taylor.

Hola everybody! So sorry for not sending an email last week, I won't miss another week my mom will make sure of that lol, I love you mom. Anyways this week is the last week of the transfer. Super loco! It's gone by pretty dang fast. We have 3 people on date for baptism next Saturday! One of which is named Juan. It was not hard for Juan to gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon. We started by just reading the introduction of the Book of Mormon, I wanna share the last couple paragraphs in the introduction:
"We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost.
Those who gain this divine witness from the Holy Spirit will also come to know by the same power that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is His revelator and prophet in these last days, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s kingdom once again established on the earth, preparatory to the Second Coming of the Messiah."
As Juan read the promised truths given in the last paragraph to anyone who reads the Book of Mormon, he felt the spirit confirm in his heart, that it was true. That the message we share is true, and that the true church of Jesus Christ had been restored on this earth. It was a very beautiful moment for all of us. Friends and family, the invitation is for everyone to read this book. To ponder and study the words in your hearts, and to pray and ask God if it's true, and you WILL receive a testimony of it:) Thank you everyone for tuning it, the mission is hard, but it is very Joyful. I love the word Joy, I invite everyone to feel this Joy by letting god prevail, and putting our trust and faith in him, especially during hard and difficult times. God always promises us JOY when we look up and follow our savior Jesus Christ.
