Week 4 in the field. (Dec 14th email)




 This weeks email: (Dec 14th, 2020)

Hola todos!  This week was another lit week.  Its like insane how fast it went.  We grind hard everyday and it just flies byyy.  I feel like I'm now adjusting and adapting well with the mission life.  My comps are so dope, we have so much together.  We met a lot of people this week and we got another baptismal date with this guy named ricky ayeeee let's goooooo.  We met him at night, he was outside of his house just chillin and we started talking to him.  And he's just this sweet short old man, you'd look ay him and just wanna give him a hug hahahah.  But we started teaching him and on our 2nd visit we dropped a baptismal date.  He was so excited when we told him that God had called a prophet and 12 apostles today, and he's was like so hype and thought that was the coolest thing.  He believes everything we teach and he understands it so well.  So definitely looking forward to teaching him more!  


The funniest thing happened to my companion, Elder Smith last night hahah.  We ate dinner at our apartment then decided to go to the church to do some stuff on Facebook, so we rode our bikes to the church then Elder Smith realized he forgot his phone lol, so we went back but didn't ride the bikes.  Instead we went another way that was shorter but we had to hop this big wooden fence.  So we did that and got his phone and went back to hop the fence again and Elder Smith jumps on it and the fence freaking breaks and he falls like 8 feet and falls head first and luckily he hit his shoulder, but Holy cow, it was the funniest thing of my life.  Me and Elder Christensen were dying out heads off as he was just laying there in pain hahahah but he was fine lol.  We took a pic of him on the ground and ill send it in this email, its a bad quality pic but whatever.

Anyways its a blessing to be out here teaching people about this gospel, I love doing it and I'm grateful for the opportunity.  It's amazing strengthening yr relationship with God and serving others.  I hope all is well with everyone.

  Feb 7th email -  Hello everyone!  Thought it'd be good to update you all again  We had transfers on Monday.  After 6 months together, one of my companions Elder Iverson has left the area. I'm gonna miss him! It was an amazing ride and I'll be grateful for his influence always.  I am still with Elder Havea and am on my 16th and final transfer.  Our friend Edgar was baptized a couple weeks ago!  We have been so blessed to see such great success in this area.  I love this area and the people so much.  I hope everyone back home is doing great!  I would love to hear from anyone!  Love you all

Keep scrolling...  Feb 22 email -  Hola todos!  Como están?  Tuve una semana tan loca con el frio en Texas!  Pero ahorita estoy muy bien echándole ganas jajaja.  Anyways if you don't know what's been going on, this past week about 1/3 of Texas lost water and power due to the weather I believe, I'm still not too sure what caused everything but man it was a crazy week.  So sorry I couldn't write an email last Monday, we had no power and electricity and I had no service on my phone.  So it got down to 18 degrees down in Laredo, and I think it was the coldest it has ever been down there.  It was a struggle haha we didn't have power for a couple days so our apartment was freezing.  Thankfully we have some awesome members in our ward that made sure we had food and warm blankets, and they gave us some candles.  We were able to get power again and everything seems to be back to normal now.   So I ended ...

  Aug 29 email  What's up everyone!  Sorry it has been a minute since I've sent an email.  Things have been crazy!  Sadly, I left Brownsville after an absolute amazing transfer.  Super grateful for the amazing members and friends I met there and for the lessons learned.  My last week there, our friend Jorge chose to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized    I'm now in Mission, Texas and my new companions are Elders Wood and Iverson!  We've been super busy and have been enjoying the work so much.  Excited for the miracles we will see from the lord. I've been studying a lot of the Character of Christ.  Everything that Jesus Christ did was centered on reaching out in love, service and compassion to others.  1 of many things that I've learned on my mission, is that not everything is about me.
